Title: Intermittent connection issues on LAN
Post by: ronald_peterson on April 30, 2008, 10:57:04 AM
Hey frnds,

Now this is a strange problem. Need help.
I just moved from a DSL(PPPO) Connection to LAN (Cable) connection. Everything seems perfect except that suddenly the browser says Cannot find server. thats almost after i have been browsing for say 40-45 mins.

What all i did,
Ping to DNS - success
Ping to Gateway - success
Ping to Google - success
Ping to DELl - success

Flush DNS. Disconnected reconnected. stil no go. but the minute i resstart the computer it works absolutely fine may be again for another 40-45 mins and again goes for a TOSS.

I have AMD semptrol 2800 system with 512 DDR2 and XP SP2. i use IE and Opera.

Also one more point everytime i turn on my computer my firewall(Zonealarm) gives me a pop up that a unidentified program wants to acces the net. Should i allow or disallow. If i dont allow the net wont work at all.

Once i allow it works fine.

Guys throw some light on this..  ???

try this turn off zone alarm firewall and then  turn on windows fire wall then try accessing the internet.it maybe a bug with zone alarm's firewall.
