Title: no icon, no start menu, but cursor

After loading XP, I just got desktop theme and cursor but there are no icon or stat meun. Although, I can run task manager. I can run other program only from task manager. What is the problem???

Any software installed recently?

In Task Manager, click the Applications tab and choose New Task, type in "explorer.exe" and click OK.

Do you see the icons and task bar?

No, I do not install any. but It work :D thanks. what is the problem?

OK, good.

Now, for the next step.

Make sure that "explorer.exe" is running.
Go HERE (http://http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx) and download AutoRuns for Windows.
Unzip the ZIP file to your hard drive.
Run AutoRuns.exe from the location you unzipped it to.
Click on the Everything tab.


Do you see Windows Explorer listed in there?

Go Start>Run, type in:
regedit
Click OK.

Registry Editor will open.
Navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
Look at the right pane, and see, if Shell entry looks exactly like in a screenshot below:
