Title: AC3D Trial end
Post by: touchstone57 on May 02, 2008, 08:51:55 AM
Hi,

I wasn't sure whether to post this in the programming section or not so here goes.

I have been using DarkBasic Pro (http://darkbasicpro.thegamecreators.com/) to make basic games, as well as using Invis AC3D (http://www.inivis.com/) as a 3D modelling program.

My problem is that the trial period is now over and I can no longer use AC3D software. It is important that I can because I have an assignment due in next week which i cannot complete without the AC3D modelling software.

So if you could either;

A) Suggest another (free) program that can do 3D modelling, and export objects in a  number of formats, specifically DirectX (.x file extension).

or

B) Show me how to bypass the trial period on the AC3D software. I have tried numerous things that do not work, uninstalling and reinstalling, removing data from the program files, removing the registry entries, changing the system date in the BIOS but none of them seem to work.

Your help would be much appreciated, thanks.

Or C) Pay for the program.

It's against policy to help you do this here. Please don't ask for something like this again.

Try searching on Google for free 3D modelling programs or, as Spoiler said, pay for the one you have.

Okay sorry. I am just a poor student and cant afford that kind of money. I have looked on google but cant seem to get any good stuff. I just wandered with the cumulative knowledge of the guys on here if they could suggest a good free 3D modelling application.

Thanks for the help.

Save some money.

You're probably not going to find too many free programs that are going to do what you want them to do.

All of the following programs are free. Some are still beta. All found on the first two pages of a Google (http://www.google.com) search for "free 3d modelling". Google is great, you can find stuff all over the web. Try it sometime.
http://sketchup.google.com/ (http://sketchup.google.com/)
http://www.anim8or.com/ (http://www.anim8or.com/) (still beta)
http://www.blender.org/ (http://www.blender.org/)
http://www.cbmodelpro.com/ (http://www.cbmodelpro.com/) (still beta)

There's no need to be patronising, I'm quite proficient in using Google, but it does not hold the key to everything. Unfortunately software listed is not what I'm looking for, but as it happens I have found a solution to my problem.

Thank you for your help.

That's for us to decide, surely?
