I've been trying to install a game off a DVD Rom and it fails to begin the installation showing the message "E:\ is not a valid Win32 application". None of the websites i have found give me helpful information or are to technical and i don't understand.
How do I fix this problem or get around it. I've also tried putting the computer in safe mode but it still doesn't work.

No the disc isn't bad. I installed the game successfully on another computer with no problems despite the computer being slow and incapable of running it properly.

Not a valid Win32 application.
1. File is corrupt, bad, or missing.
2. File is not designed for your version of Windows.
3. File is a virus, worm, or other malware file.
4. Hardware incompatibility.
(4) could mean that disk won't read in your DVD-ROM drive, but it will in another computer. Maybe the disk got dirty or scratched since it was used before, or your DVD rom drive is crapping out.

Dude, it was the other computer that was slow.
Of course, you are quite right though. Maybe magu55555 (yuk! all those 5's) is putting a DVD-ROM in a CD-ROM drive. It does happen. Some youngster have never seen a CD-only drive.

I have just put a NEW DVD-Drive in the computer and the computer recognised the new one and it can run other things on it too.. Also, of the two computers I have, it runs programs faster. It just take longer to load when you turn it on.
The problem is not the disc or the drive. If it were something on the computer, what would exactly would it be and how would I fix it?

Sounds like it is a copy of a game or an incorrectly burned DVD...
Open Windows Explorer then navigate to the DVD drive....
Open the game folder on the DVD and report back with your findings.

Also I searched on google for a possible answer to the Win32 application and I went to this website: http://www.tuneupadvisor.com/fix-win32.aspx
That website gave me the impression that maybe their is something wrong with my computer files. IF this is true then is their somewhere i can download a program for FREE that would fix it? I also visited http://www.registryfix.com/?hop=errorfix4 but i'm not sure whether to download it or not. Any suggestions?

Do you know how to use Explorer to look at files ? ?
Open Explorer and then scroll down to your DVD drive.
Then clik on it to open the files on the DVD to view them.
Post back with the info.
I don't believe either of the links you posted are going to solve this issue...

If Win32 has something to do with 32-bit and so a game that runs with 32 bit would require 32 MB RAM, then would a game requiring 64 MB RAM be running 64 bit? If so then wouldn't I need Win64 or something?

Right Click My Computer
Look for the DVD/CD Drive and Right Click it.
Go to Explore

If a game requires 32mb RAM, the computer must have at least 32mb RAM (preferably over 512mb). My computer currently has 1GB of RAM.
If the game requires a 64 bit processor, it will say so in the requirements.

I went to explore which opened the DVD showing the files that are on it. I then tried running the setup from their but it came up with the same errors.

Try copying the files from the CD, although this action might be blocked by the game company.
Does your computer meet the requirements for the game?
Wouldn't hurt to tell us the name of the game.

Sniping at one another about spelling problems or correcting others' spelling is not helping anyone.
There are many times when I feel the urge to do the same but just let it go, it's not worth it except in extreme cases to me.

might be disk is scratched
if not then ur system is not having that much of minimum requiremnt to run the game successfully
normally game requires 64bit processors to run with a sufficiant RAM also

Sufficiant RAM for your OS, Game and Background processes.
Also, you don't need a 64-bit processor. Even the newest games nowadays can be run with a 32-bit.

Alright, the game is brand new, it's from Ubisoft and not downloaded or burnt! I've tried running the game in safe mode, tried copying setup files. None of these have worked and the disk is not scratched. I've been trying to get technical support from the Ubi website but their suggestions have also been unsuccessfull. I assume it's because it isn't the game that has the problem.
And everyone STOP POSTING UNRELATED. STICK TO THE TOPIC. NO ONE CARES ABOUT SPELLING MISHAPS.

Back to the topic. Magu, I don't really know what the problem might be here but I would think it's something to do with the disc...or the computer for that matter.
What happens when you try putting the disc in another computer?

Umm, what OS is the computer you are trying to run the disk on and failing? Is it Vista? If so, have you verified that the game is Vista compatible?

Good question. Maybe sfc /scannow is due.
You may also try copying DVD to your hard drive, and install it from there.

I think you can try making an iso file of the dvd disk and then attempting to open it with some virtual drive software like daemon tools. This may get you to install the program and then if it install okay, then try playing game with normal disk in place. Or you can play with the virtual disk you already created (unless you want multiplayer mode, which many times don't allow virtual disks)

when the disk is placed in another computer it instal without probelm. My computer is Windows XP. I attempeted the install after copying all the files off the disk and trying the installation is safe mode but then i get a message saying "1607: Unable to install InstallShield Scripting Runtime."

CAUSE

• You run the Setup program from a virtual drive created through the subst command.
• The driver IDriver.exe is not registered correctly.
• The installer Msiexec.exe is not registered correctly.
• The user account does not have permission to access the C:\Windows\Installer folder.
• An older version of the Windows Installer engine was installed from a network drive that is no longer available.
• The user account does not have permission to install software on the computer.
• Another instance of Msiexec.exe is running.
• Another Windows Installer-based Setup program is running.
• Windows XP is damaged.
