Title: Disabling ASUS M7K ambient light sensor
Post by: LeonStrider on May 27, 2008, 02:00:48 PM
So I had Windows Vista installed on this ASUS model M7K laptop I'm using.  Now, until now I didn't know this laptop had a little "ambient lighting" feature, where it detects how much light is around you and adjusts the monitor brightness accordingly (the darker the room, the dimmer the monitor).  Now this is very, very annoying and I want it disabled.  I searched Google on how to fix this, but they're all for Ubuntu/Linux/etc.  operating systems, and not for Vista.

Help would be appreciated!

Depending on the LCD...there may be a button near the LCD panel...just above the keyboard...a specific function key you can use...or you may want to boot into BIOS to see if there is a video setting which will disable this feature.
