Title: P4 3.0 ghz vs. AMD Athlon 64 3400+
Post by: GSGS on February 09, 2005, 06:05:38 PM
Okay, first post...

I'm shopping for a new PC.  I'm trying to determine if the AMD Athlon 64-bit 3400+ processor is worth the extra money over a P4 3.0ghz?  Which one will perform better?  My use is general in nature; Microsoft Office, Internet, burning CDs & DVDs, and kids games.  Will the 64-bit AMD prepare my machine for 64-bit applications?

Thx

GS

Amd is geared more towards extreme gaming.both processors will be able to support the new 64-bit operating systems. You have to decide your budget.I prefer intel only because they are easier to find parts for and are more plentiful.Amd is hard to find where I'm from. You shouldnt need much more than the intel p4  3.0.that will run well for a while.
