Title: Odd registry keys
Post by: rebop on June 09, 2008, 12:45:23 AM
Hi folks,

Found you searching for registry help.

The following keys are relatively new as I visit the registry from time to time. Theare all blamk except fro default value not set. Could these be corrupt? Safe to remove? Needed by something?

Very curious to find out as they are only in the HKCU hive.

Thanks for any input.

~Bob

DO NOT mess with the registry if you don't know what you're doing.

I suggest downloading CCleaner (http://www.computerhope.com/forum/index.php/topic,57879.0.html)

That program is highly recommended here in ComputerHope.
Use the registry cleaner in CCleaner and runt the scan (and cleanup) several times.

What version of Windows are you using?

A long time ago, I messed with the registry in Windows 98, but have moved on to Windows 2000, and Windows XP -- and I turned into a big chicken!

Carbon is right...let CCleaner analyze and correct registry problems for you.

I will try ccleaner. Thanks. And I would not remove unless I knew, of course. But these are so odd, I thought someone who works with the registry might have seen them before.

And Os is XP Pro.

Off to catch a flight for the UK, so if there are more replies, I may not respond for a day or two.

Thanks.
