Hello!
Why does she need to reinstall her Windows? Any problems she encountered? Also, you can't use your copy of Windows to install into her PC.

There may be a partition on the harddrive that contains recovery files.

You may want to answer @jerryheavyarms question first; maybe the people here can help you to avoid the hassle of recovery.

first there are no recovery files on pc. second i did not know if i could use mine to do a repair.  ok now for the problems. when you turn it on you get error message that pc has recoverd from a serious error. norton antivirus says no virus found. but she has antispy on it that says over 150 threats have been found and this is a demo so it wants her to buy it. the pc hangs and will restart if you use some of the programs. system restore has not been turned on.  thanks
Connie

The newest AVG version (8.0) is having a lot of problems, so I don't recommend it, but...

when you turn on the pc you get 'C:\PROGRA~1\INSTAL~1\{4A1CC~1\setup.exe'

then you get this system has recovered from a serious error.

did what jerryheavyarms suggested found no suspicious programs, installed and ran ccleaner when i hit analyze the pc restarts.

if no other ideas i will do what Droni said. thanks
Connie
