Title: Recommend a Graphics Card
Post by: choukyla on June 24, 2008, 04:41:45 AM
Hi

Please can someone help me ?

I can't seem to stop wasting money LOL

I recently bought a second hand PC to replace my existing one which had a P4 1.7Ghz.
The second hand one was a P4 2.8Ghz.

This was because not so long ago I bought a new game, without checking the specs of the game requirement I bought it anyway.  It required a minimum of P4 2.4 and a Nvidia 6600 GT Series card or equivalent.

Let's not talk about me selling the game or taking it back to the shop...that's a different story :-)

In my old PC I had a Nvidia 6200 AGP 512Mb card.  Well the game didn't work there.

So I bought the new second hand PC, put my existing card in.  Thinking it would work....it's better....as the game moves.  But it move so slow, it's not play able.  The old one actually hangs.

Anyway...now I have a P4 2.8Ghz Nvidia 6200 512Mb and it still doesn't work.

My future project is a super gaming PC...but that's really far in the future to be made.

For now, I need to upgrade my Graphics card.

Been doing alot of research and not have much luck in getting any upgrade.  There isn't much available for a AGP slot anymore....I was looking for the following

GeForce 6800 Ultra
GeForce 7800 GTX
GeForce 7900 GTX

But the market these days don't sell any of the above for AGP anymore.

Please can someone recommend me a graphics card ?  Basically most powerful best card I can get for AGP slot x8 1.5v.  Right now let's not take money into consideration and  I am not bias to Nvdia...it's just that Nvidia seem to be everywhere.

Oh and the game I've got is

Clive Barker's Jericho
Below is the specs it needs to play

My Mobo is D845PESV.
P4 2.8 ghz
1GB RAM

I'm looking for the best, most powerful, highest spec, fatest graphics still available to buy in the market :-D

Thanks
An.

The absolute fastest AGP card is the ATI Radeon HD3850 AGP.
Other cards to consider are the 7800GS+ and X1950 Pro.
