Depends where you live really - I myself don't like Maxtor ones - I also thought Maxtor and WD made all there drives the same... I cannot see them deliberately making good and bad hard drives.

In one of my computers, I have had a hard drive for 12 years, its sounds abit like "Louis Armstrong" but it is still working.

Well I'm from the United Kingdom, so by the time you paid for shipping, it wouldn't be worth it.

If I was getting a new Hard Drive, I would just go down to the computer store and get one.  ::)

I live in a remote location, the closet thing is a walmart which is thridy minutes from my house.  Which is a problem when I can probably get it cheaper online.

Walmart seems cheap enough, so why don't you get it from there. I mean, 30 minutes, it isn't exactly a 100 miles away is it. I would call 30 minutes away, my local store.

End of the day, I just don't see this has a hardware fault.

It is when you cant exatly drive.  A side from the fact its not a super walmart or anything.  So the drives are bigger then what I want.

Well, if you really want to get a cheap one online, why didn't you just google it 'Cheap hard drives'. Just don't come crying if you have to send it back.

Not at all sure what you mean here, but I know what I would do if these were my computers. I would scrap all of the old ones I had. And I would just consentrate on the new ones I had.
