I have a text file with a list of computer files.
What would be the best tool to use to sort them alphabetically?
Thanks.
-
What about Microsoft Excel?
You can paste the list to Excel and use Data --> Sort
(This is for M$ Office 2003)
-
I was thinking about Excel/Open Office Calc, but I thought, maybe it's some easier way.
-
Then, my final product must be some kind of text file.
I'm sorry, but all word processing stuff is little bit alien to me.
-
Can't you, once it's sorted, paste it back into the text file?
-
Can I? I simply don't know.
-
I can :D
Do you need help with Sort or are you ok?
-
Let me try.
-
OK, using Open Office Calc
I have 4 words in column A. How do I sort them alphabetically?
-
I don't know about Calc but if the buttons are the same, Highlight the 4 words and go to Data --> Sort and sort it by Column A

Very good. I did it.
Now, how can I save it as text file? I can't see that option under File>Save As.
-
Highlight the names, CTRL + C, go to Notepad and CTRL + V
-
Wow!
That simple.
Thank you, my friend :)
-
One more question.
I can see 80 rows in column A. What do I do after 80th item?

LOL
One more question.
I can see 80 rows in column A. What do I do after 80th item?
Can't you go down any further?

Oh, yes. I thought 80th was the last row, but now I can see, the slider goes further.
Good going :)
