Title: The volume controls on my laptop doint work
Post by: shashgo on August 07, 2008, 10:16:40 AM
i have a HP laptop, win XP.  My sound card works fine and I can get the volume to increase decrease with the function + page up/page down button.  I have a volume bar control on the top of my laptop but that doesnt work for some reason.  I went to the HP site to try and find audio drivers that would fix the problem, but no luck.  do y ou know whats going on?

What model laptop is this?

Also, what were you doing before this problem? (downloads, installs, ect...)

You'll probably need the keyboard software, as well.

Go back to your manufacturer's website to see if there is software/driver available for the laptop...as it pertains to the keyboard.

What model HP laptop do you have?

The model of HP I have is Dv9700.  So do you think this thing of the volume controls not working is just a driver problem"?

It's possible...

Did this laptop come with XP installed...or Vista?

You may also want to look at the following PDF...just in case there's something that's not set correctly on the keyboard...

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01278134.pdf

...assuming I have the correct information...because the manual is pointing to Vista as the operating system.  That's why I asked the first question.

Keep us posted...okay?
