Post by: rannin on August 12, 2008, 07:02:12 AM
Recently I bought ADSL connection 256 mbps. when I tried installing the ADSL modem (Alcatel Lucent) I received a error meesage " DSL modem is already installed. To upgrade the software you must remove the current software and the run setup later" .

I am using a DELL inspirion laptop with Microsoft Xp home edition. I did not find any DSL modem installed.

Can anybody help on this.

How were you connecting to the Internet prior to the ADSL?

You might try rebooting the router in two different ways.

Unplug it for about thirty seconds, plug it back in, and see what happens.

The second way to boot is to find the reset button on the modem, and holding that in for a few seconds, and seeing how the modem "reboots" off of that.

Let us know if you've already tried these...
