Title: Computer wont start up
Post by: Nicco on August 14, 2008, 03:48:34 PM
Hello and help

I have a packard bell IMEDIA 1404 a couple of years old. It has been working fine with no error messages and is protected by Norton. I turned off after a sesssion last night and all ok. This morning when i turned on, instead of the blue flashing packard bell logo on the start button, it flashes yellow, and there is a red or orange flashing light. There is a clicking sound, dont think it beeps, but does not sound like disk spinning or fans running. Have tried turning on and off, disconnecting/reconnecting, checked all leads, is the only thing left to hit it with a large hammer, or is there hope, all my school work is on it

please help me

Nicco

If you checked all the connections and are sure everything is ok there i would first replace the power supplt since you say no fans ect.

The clicking sound may be a failing hard drive...
Do you have all your data backed up ? ?
