Title: Help Me Please, Im Getting tired of this....
Post by: ben.f on August 19, 2008, 09:18:51 PM: K, i have no clue whats going on with my computer, my mouse keeps lagging.... like it has the hiccups! im moving around my mouse and then it stalls and then moves again... but its not just that. My whole computer stalls... its really annoying because i try and listen to music and the music like drags on the one part, then skips to the next part >:( its annoying

please Help :'(

Post by: ben.f on August 19, 2008, 09:36:47 PM: Its not the speed of my computer, i know that because i just ran system machanics proffesional 6 yesterday and i did a speed boost thing and i cleaned it all up... as for system restore, that didnt work either!

I have no clue about computer talk so im just gonna copy and paste this from system properties.....

thats why i ran the speed thing.. cause i thought my computer was just slowing down.. or i was running out or hard drive space

Post by: ben.f on August 19, 2008, 09:54:50 PM: well i had blubster for awhile... my computer crashed like a couple months ago and we took it to some computer tech guy, and he put on blubster and said it was better... so i started using it.... and i dont want to get rid of it cause it has all my songs... plus i have limewire Pro, but i went to clean my harddrive and it deleted some files on limewire and now it wont work... and i refuse to pay again. i dont care if its illegal anyways.

so unless you can give my some software that lets me transfer songs from blubster to limewire then im stickin with it, sorry

Sorry but we do care ;)

We will not help anyone with illegal downloads. But if you mess up your computer in the process, we will help you fix it. Granted you are willing to potentially loose some infected files no matter if you want to keep them or not.

The reason your antivirus removed the music files is because they are infected. You don't know what sort of code is packed along with the music files. There could very well be someone logging everything you are doing on the computer right now, including stealing your registration numbers (including Windows) and posting them on the Internet for others to use. Do you want to be an accomplice in theft?

Whether we do or not has nothing to do with how things are handled here. It is a forum policy/rule that we all abide by. And knowing evilfantasy, he probably actually doesn't have any illegal music on his computer.

If you want help with your mouse, I suggest following the link evilfantasy posted. As for any filesharing software...you're on your own.

I have two kids just out of their teens. You tell me ;)

I've seen online (I help in a lot of malware removal) and first hand the damage done by file sharing. That's partly why my stance on advising on any file sharing is so much more harsh then some of the others.

If you want to get your PC running normal then post the logs from the thread Carbon posted. The only thing I will ask that you remove is anything that's infected (or cracked software if I see it). Honestly I don't care how you get your music. I just won't be a part of helping you to do it.

I also bet that over 50% of users on this site do download music illegaly! im also not saying that i didnt follow whats his faces link.... its just i was hoping there would be a good answer, not links to other things that just confuse me! i have all the anti-malware and sypware software i could ever want, i was just hoping that maybe there would be a quick fix to my problem. and im still not sure there is cause no one is really helping me here! i would like a specific answer. not a general discussion!

We need to see the logs which are created by the software in the above link. Without logs we can't tell what's going wrong with the computer. It's all guess work which could take days. Follow the directions and it will only take about an hour.

And, I'm going out on a limb here but you can skip the SUPERAntiSpyware scan for now. It may be needed later but I'm guessing that MBAM and HJT will be enough.
