I just built a new computer and when it turns on and starts loading Windows XP It comes with an error screen that says-
Windows encountered an error and was shut down.
Then it goes on about some other stuff to check and see if its the problem and none of them are.
It also says to go into BIOS and try disabling memory shadowing and caching witch I don't know how to do.
Then it says to disable or check for updates for any of the drives listed below which are listed below.
This is what it says-
Stop: 0x0000007E (0xc0000005, 0xF748E0BF, OxF78DA208, 0xF78D9F08)
pci.sys - Address F748E0BF base at F7487000 Datestamp 3b7d855c
If anyone knows what this means please help.
Computer Specs-
Mobo is a Biostar TP43
RAM is G-Skill DDR2 1066
CPU is Intel Core 2 Dou 3.0 ghz
Graphics Card is Nvidia 8800 GT
HDD is Western Digital SATA 500gb

Is Windows installed, or are you trying to install it?
Your problem could be bad memory, a bad HDD or cable, or that the SATA drivers aren't installed.
If you answer the first question, we'll be able to help you troubleshoot.

Im trying to install it.

I would say the issue is most likely that your SATA drivers aren't loaded.
Whilst installing, there will be a brief prompt asking you to hit F6 if you want to install RAID drivers.
You need to hit F6, and insert a floppy disk with the drivers on it. If you haven't got one, you'll need to refer to the motherboard manual in order to find out how to make one.
Before you try this, you might want to give Memtest a shot - http://www.memtest.org/#downiso
Download it, unzip it, and burn the ISO to a CD. Then boot from the CD and have it test your memory for a long time, preferably overnight. if no errors are shown, your RAM isn't the issue.
I do think it's the SATA drivers though, that's usually what causes this issue.

I dont have a floppy drive and theres no floppy disk that came with the SATA drives
-
Then simply put them on a flash drive or burn them to a CD...
At the prompt direct the machine to where they are...

At the prompt direct the machine to where they are...
Whats prompt direct the machine?
-
I think it was supposed to have a comma in it... At the prompt, direct the machine to where they are. As in 'Direct the machine to where they are, when the prompt appears.'
