Title: Acer monitor stand removal
Post by: BOBCON on August 24, 2008, 11:10:34 AM
I'm trying to remove the base stand from a 22" Acer LCD monitor model AL2216W.
I've tried to pry open the 8 plastic tabs located under the base.  They are almost impossible to move and I'm afraid I could break them.  I've had no luck with Acer support. Any help/hints are greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Bob

Thanks Mark!

The link you referenced was exactly what Acer tech support  had me do.
I was in the Que for about 15 minutes and finally had a nice chat with a fellow named
Tony. He also mentioned that once you snapped the bottom of the base onto the monitor "neck" it was very hard to remove as the plastic tabs are very difficult to press in and remove. There are 8 tabs and getting them all pressed in at once is like aligning the
planets!

I really like the monitor but Acer could have done a better job engineering the base plate.
