Title: Computer will only boot to safe mode

I had a previous registry problem, which I have "seemed" to have fixed.  My laptop will now only boot to safe mode.  If I try to boot to normal, nothing happens.  I am stuck with a blank screen.  I am running Windows ME on a Sony laptop.

Do you have antivirus protection? Also, what happens when you try to boot in normal mode? Do you see an error message, or just a blank screen?
