Title: Need help getting a Power Supply

Ok I don't know what kinda power supply I need to get..want to know if someone can help me. I need it to have a +12V rating of 30 or so it says for the Video Card. The specs for my computer are as follows:

Motherboard- ASUS M2A-VM SERIES AM690G Chipset support

CPU- AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3 GHz

Video Card- Nvidia Geforce 8800 GT Performance Edition

Any help would be appreciated I am looking for recommended power supplies what should I get?

Figure out what components you will have in the system and look here: http://www.extreme.outervision.com/powercalc.jsp. This will give you an idea for the total size (watts) of the PSU - if you buy a good brand (Antec, OCZ, PC Power, etc.) In addition, because of the power consumption of your video card (up to 105 watts; ≈9 amps), you need a PSU with a least 30 amps on the 12 volt rail.

Yes But the power supplies I looked at says it has 2 +12V's do I add them both up or are they seperate?

Sorry to mislead you - total amps on all 12 volt rails. And, that's just a minimum. 50% more would not be out of the question depending on your total hardware.

So your saying you don't add the dual +12V's?

Yes - you do to get to the 30 amps. And I would suggest picking a PSU with >30amps, combined.
