Title: problem with video & Nortons '05
Post by: ae on March 11, 2005, 10:55:15 AM
Got an XP box {sp2} with a strange problem. I've removed a virus and 2 spyware from the computer using Nortons '05 and Spybot. Here's my issue:
Whenever I click on the Norton's shortcut or on the icon at the system tray, the screen blacks out and returns with 8 colors x 640x480 resolution [latest drivers for onboard video] and the Liveupdate feature doesn't work. When I close Norton's, the screen goes back to it's normal 32m colors and 1024x768 resolution.

I've seen this before but have forgotten what I did to fix it. Any ideas?

Have you contacted your computer manufacturer?

No.  It's a clone.
