Server migration didn't go as planned so delaying it.

This is an advanced notice that I'll be taking the forums down for most if not all of Sunday while I move everything over to the new server. Depending on how smoothly things go will determine how fast it comes up Sunday and/or Monday. No ETA.
You've been warned. :D
FYI: While down, the chat will remain up since it's on an IRC server. :)

I sometimes wonder... you should see the typos I make.
I do often start writing the second letter of a word and messing the entire thing up at times... you should see my assignments I turn in at school, very messy.

i wonder the same zylstra i spell spelling like speeling all kinds of things and when im writing in school im contantly reversing letters like shcool instead of school or something like that and in math i write 01 instead of 10 but i always relize it and erease it right away

What time is this going to start?
Setting up DNS (which is new to me), so things are going ok, just slowly. So not quite ready for forums to go down. Will likely be going down late Sunday (another few hours from this post).

Still encountering issues setting up DNS, which needs to be done before can move forums. Anyone a BIND9 expert. ;)
So until I get this going I don't plan on moving the forums. I'd expect with the amount of time this has taken me so far and not being able to get proper DNS responses that this update will not be happening (if at all) until later tonight. So delayed several more hours.

What operating system are you using? That could really help...
You might have to substitute a few commands if its not the right OS... but check this out:

I'm sure your ISP would be more than willing to help you..
Might have to hint to them how big CH is, and how many people use it, and what good business you are bringing to them.
Other than that, former Forum Hero: Rob Pomeroy is great with this networking stuff... you could give him a call over Skype, I know he would be more than willing to help.

Update:
Slowly but surely that's my motto. Have all DNS done (quite the learning experience), Apache tweaked and setup with virtual hosting setup, majority of site moved over, MySQL server setup.. whew and I'm sure more but my brain is a little fried at the moment to think of everything.
Really just need to finish with the mail server setup, which with a custom setup I'm doing could allow for users to have computerhope.com e-mail addresses, move over scripts, and move the database data for the forums.
Going to take a little cool down though and play some Warhammer Online and let my brain cool down for a bit. It has almost been 12 hours of staring at a *nix console screen which gets pretty exhausting.
However, really trying my best to get this done today. :)

I'm doing well on that as a matter of fact...today was one of my better rounds of the season...
However i need to play some of those challenging gorgeous courses from a State out west i won't mention by name...hint, hint, hint.

CH Email... not sure I personally would want another account (I have two, and manage two others for different websites... that's enough for me).
That could be interesting..
I use Webmin for server management... its a bit easier then strictly using the console..

GUI is a miracle in some instances...
Theres also Usermin, which could handle a web interface email (I think... not 100% sure on this. Usermin is moreover for allowing people to create and manage their own sub-sites).

Not going to happen tonight. Way too tired and frustrated with mail server so will have to delay this. I checked out webmin zylstra and not capable of everything I'd like to do. Just going to have to work my way through learning some server setups I'm not that familiar with.

Thanks for the offer on the books Dead_Reckon, most of the stuff I need to know that I don't know already (worked a few years as a network engineer and have dozens of books already) I can find on the web. :)
