Title: Laptop will not turn on - CD drive removed
Post by: ladytelle on October 04, 2008, 01:42:14 PM
Hi, I have a question!

My laptop fell off a table whilst the disk tray was open and jammed the disk tray shut. It didn't damage the laptop at all, just made a whirring noise every time I turned it on and off because there was a CD still in there. However, today the tray opened a little and so I pulled it out.

Now my laptop won't turn on, and even the charging light doesn't come on. A piece of plastic ribbon that I think was attached to the tray is loose - could it be that?

(Acer Aspire 5920, Windows Vista)

Dropping a laptop is very bad news.

Is it under warranty by any chance?
