Does a pIII 500mhz cpu slow down a 125mbps interrnet connection?

Are you sure that is not 1.25Mbps?  125Mbps is (83) T1 lines or (43) 3Mbps high speed DSL or cable connections.

But the short answer is no, the processor is significantly faster than your Internet connection.

Very interesting. So what's the connection between the processor speed and the internet connection?

Is, say I megahertz  (1 Meg cycles per second) and a I meg bits per second transfer rate, the same?

Like one cycle of the processor is equivalnent to one bit through the connection?
