Hi there:
Can anybody remind me how to make the security tab to appear in file properties dialog?.
I did it once, but I had to format my disc and reinstall windows, I don't remember how to do it. I forgot to take note at that time.
Thanks in advance...
Rafael

What application/program are you talking about? What Windows version do you have?

Windows XP Professional. The properties dialog box that appears when you right-click a file in the windows explorer...

Think you mean this tab found on properties of a file. This screen shot is from Windows 2000, but I think it is the same in XP. Sorry, I don't know how to turn it on.

Found it! Check and see if the registry has this:
Hive: HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Key: Software\Microsoft\windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
Name: Nosecuritytab
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 1
That would keep the tab off. Just hack away at it, but you should have a backup of the registry just in case. 8)

I want to turn it on.
I once did it, and I didn't have to hack the registry. It was a simple task, but I don't remember what it was...
