Title: Cable help

I was on the Internet looking at how Coax Cable works and I just need some help Understanding what I read.

I know that Coax Cable has a Center Conducter that is the main wire that the signales are on.

And around that is wrapped a none Conductive Dyelectric.

And around that is wrapped a Braid that acts as a Shield an a Second Conducter.

What I need help with is the outer Braid that is the Shield keeps E.M.F out of the Center Conducter I get this.

But it also is the Second Conducter but what I want to know is this.

Is the outer Shield conected to the outer part of the BNC Conector the part that spins around the Center Conducter???

Yes, the outer shield is connected to the outer part of of the BNC connector.

So the Outer Shield is connected to the Outer part of the BNC Connecter.

OK I get it so far.

If you hold a BNC Connecter in your hand without it being attatched to the Cable you will see the Center Pin and the Outer part that spins.
Are the Insolated from one onother on just the Connecter??

Yes, there is no connection between the center pin and the body of the connector.
