Title: Help with uTorrent.
Post by: Xyphon on December 16, 2008, 05:00:33 PM
I downloaded uTorrent, and when I try to open my .exes, it tries to open them with .torrent and says invalid. I tried to uninstall uTorrent by removing it from add/remove (has no uninstall option but said thats how you uninstall it) and it says I need to turn certain features on/off (vista). So I go to turn it on/off whatever I need to do and uTorrent tries to open the on/off thing, and it says invalid. So is there any way to get around this? Any ideas?

I would say.... did you try a system restore?  I find that the easiest way to go back before I installed a program.

How about just restoring it through folder options in the control panel?

It sounds like something he downloaded in uTorrent was malware and it 'messed up' the system.

Look Here (http://www.winhelponline.com/articles/165/1/Restore-the-exe-file-association-in-Windows-Vista-after-incorrectly-associating-it-with-another-application.html) for a possible solution.
