Dear Community:

What do you think of the USB to VGA adaptor technology? Do you, or, if you know of anyone who has used this for monitor expansion?

With these modern desktop computers regarding their lack of graphics card slots, nowadays, and the different PCI-express, with all different length slots; would the above not make this technology be a handy addition?

I am thanking you for your prompt response; for, this will be much appreciated.

Yours sincerely,

Eddy.

You should start selling cars, Eddy. I think you'd be good at it.

Hate that stupid attention grabbing subject line. USB to VGA is NOT revolutionary - Startech have been making them for years. Other makers too. You can buy these gizmos for around 70 euros from lots of places. If the OP was trying to spam, it was a crude attempt. If it was meant to be market research, likewise.

It might be OK for display of static or slowly changing material such as slide shows or photos, charts, etc, but the slow data transfer speed of USB compared to PCI, AGP, PCI Express would make it useless for e.g. video.
