i really like windows xp but I think that i will be switching to  vista because of dx10

Performance wise? Windows 2000 or Windows XP.

Note that Windows XP and XP Pro are the same thing...

Where is Windows 7?
It's been amazing so far!
Even tho it's not out yet, I have a beta release.

If I had to pick XP would be the best that is released fully so far.

It all depends what hardware is involved and how the OS is set up, plus how the performance is measured.
Why are the choices limited to just 3?
