Title: error #98? how do i fix it?

my computer started telling me my nltdr is missing and when I put my recovery disc in it tells me "error #98, windows was last shut down in hibernation mode restart windows 2000 and do a normal shutdown before continuing" the problem is that im unable to restart windows due to the missing nldtr does anyone know what's going on and any solutions or am I totally screwed? thanks!

Did you boot to recovery CD?
