Title: All google search results "may harm your computer"
Post by: ytrottier on January 31, 2009, 08:23:25 AM
Just this morning, Google effectively stopped working for me. Every search results comes with the warning "This site may harm your computer" regardless of what I search for.

I'm running Firefox 3.0.5 on Windows XP Home SP3. Avira anti-virus's last scan found nothing 3 days ago. Is this a problem on my computer or on the internet or on Google?

Definitely not a problem with Google.

Post the 3 logs and a malware specialist will review them.

I'm pretty sure this was a google.ca problem. My parents had the same problem at about the same time this morning, and they live 2000km away. It went away on its own.

Yep, sorry, it was a problem on Google's end. A neighbour of mine had this problem also.

This has happened before. The media downplayed it.
People don't believe it can happen.
I tried making a post about this and nobody knew what I was talking about. Everybody thinks it is on a Windows PC problem. Not so. Too many IT people just can not believe how easy the whole system can be compromised.
