Title: help buying a new hard drive
Post by: davedat on February 19, 2009, 01:08:52 PM
I am replacing my hard drive which is WDC WD2500 BEVS - 22 UST0-(S1). I have placed an order but I want to cancel it if it could be the wrong hard drive. Are there different hard drives of the same specification as above to fit different computers. And just because it is WDC WD2500 BEVS - 22 UST0-(S1) does it mean it will fit my computer or not? Thanks

I  entered WDC WD2500 BEVS - 22 UST0-(S1) into the search box on the website where I ordered the hard drive
and a hard drive came up as this specification. It didn't say if it was for a particular computer. Also I wonder if its an internal hard drive. I don't know if it would fit my laptop.

The drive you named is a STATA 2.5 inch drive meant for a laptop. But, and this is important, you have to tell us the exact model of laptop you have. That drive is for newer high performance laptops. If the laptop is under three years old, the original drive may be under warranty. Did you cheek your documents to see?

Or maybe you just want to backup you stuff with an image. Good idea!
