Title: Reformatting problem Hp laptop

I have a HP laptop,and installed the Cd System Mechanic.IT wiped my computer out and said to recover it I must run recovery CD.Had to order this from HP and put it in my computer.It run the complete recovery ,but when finished it tried to connect and wouldn't,so it said to run it again,and I did,but still same message.What am I doing wrong?
