Title: xp won't start

hey guys!

i have a serious problem. Couple of days ago after restarting my computer it hasn't worked. eveytime i turn it on it works fine until the point where you login on xp. the windows xp screen comes up with the little time line and then right after the screen turns black then flashes a blue screen (which im not fast enough to read) and then just restarts. If anyone can help me please do so.

Lets try running in safe mode... Follow these instructions to start... Restart your computer and start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard... Keep pressing F8 until you see the Boot Menu. (3 options). Use your arrow keys to select safe mode. Press enter... Your computer will now boot... Give it a few minutes... You should now be able to login... Here's what I want you to do... Reply to this topic once you boot in safe mode... After, we will talk about fixing the problem...  ;)

Have you added any new hardware/?//and what is make~specs of this pc......

Hey!

None of the modes work to start the computer with. I believe it might be a virus of some sort. Because same thin that happend to my computer happend to my brothers computer as well. The make is an HP. And no no new hardware has been added in the past weeks.

Are there any error/code messages.......on boot....is this a laptop......

No there are no error messages at all. And no it's not a laptop. Have you heard of any new viruses that might cause this kinda problem...

Try booting to command prompt only and run stinger from McAfee
http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/
You, of course, will have to download this to a floppy on another computer.
