Title: computer is slow and a mess
Post by: corymaag on March 14, 2009, 07:27:08 AM
Hello folks,

This is my fiance's computer, and it is pretty much a mess.
One of the big problems is when you start up the computer the "System" folder opens, and continues to open multiple times desite closing the window....it's a real pain...

Also, very slow start up...

This computer was also really screwed up at one point, and wouldn't boot up past the 'windows me' screen, and following some suggestions I had read before online, I had to delete the "wininit.exe" and "wininit.dll" files, and this allowed me to boot the computer back up.

So How do I get those files back, or is it necessary?

What I've done:

1. Ran ATF Cleaner
2. Ran CCleaner
3. Ran SuperAntiSpyware
4. Installed and Ran avast! Antivirus
5. Ran Vundofix in Safe Mode
6. Ran HijackThis

I was unable to run Malwarebytes, because of some system incompatability.

Below are my logs for Hijackthis and SuperAntiSpyware.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Quite honestly I don't think this is repairable by us. You have major damage to the OS. You should reinstall.

That's all I can do is suggest reinstalling.
