HP laptop running win vista shuts down and reboots every so often. How can I fix this.
-
Clean all the dust out of the machine and check to be sure that the fans are running right. This can happen if the machine over heats.
-
some more info: the laptop lights go on like the laptop is going to boot up completely, but there is no display at all before the computer shuts down again.
so cleaning is one issue, but why is the video not displaying?

How old is the laptop/ still under warranty? If so back up your stuff and take it back.

alan,
no the computer is not under warranty anymore.

Except all mentioned above it could be also the RAM memory or some of capacitors has blown.
Cheers.
