Post by: noboot on May 18, 2009, 09:00:12 AM
ok heres what happened:

I did a hard shutdown (held the power putton for 4 sec) to shutdown the computer. Dumb i know.

Now when i turn it on it goes to the screen that that gives the options:

start in safe mode
last known config
start windows norm

ive tried each one and all the copmuter does is restart and goes back to this screen.
Help!

running windows xp

You need to have the CD used to install XP on that machine.
Here is thread posted earlier on this forum. The user did not have either a backup, a dual-boot or even a repair CD.  Hope you are not in that same category.

are you able to access a recovery partition? what kind of computer is it?  If you cannot solve this using the partition, you will definitely need disks...if you cannot resolve it with disks, then it can be assumed that your hard drive has failed and will need to be serviced.
