Title: Web Cam?
Post by: squall_01 on June 02, 2009, 04:09:55 PM
My sister had a logitech cam but since she got her new laptop she doesnt need it any more.  The thing is that she left the driver in LA and wont be back till this fall.  Not real sure.  At any rate I dont know what it is.  I can plug it n my laptop an it works but it cant be seen in the batman.

Have you checked the Logitech site for drivers?

"in the batman" - your desktop - I remember, now.  What operating system does it run?

I'm surprised XP doesn't see the camera!   ???

I thought you'd tell us it was Win2K or something.  How old is the camera?  Shouldn't matter...

USB 1.1 or 2.0?

It's on there...you'll just have to use a magnifying glass.  All products have model numbers on them...somewhere.

Put the camera on the laptop, where it works, and see what information you can find about it in Control Panel and Device Manager.

I'll try that was thinking that I couldnt do something along those lines.  Patio I dont have it setup too really were I could so it wont work.  There is now seen number, the thing is that I am given up graphic's for speed so its hard to tell and if I turned them on it would only be slow.

Not sure what this means but all you have to do is DLoad and install Everest Home and run the scan with the Cam connected...

Look at the two links I posted...

Which of the cameras looks like the one you have?

Use the driver for that camera.

Sheesh...a two page thread for something so simple...a caveman could do it.

::) I'll look at it later.  A distorted view wont change if its set that way.

I suggest this be locked. Squall has ALL the information he needs and insists on "looking at it later" just as he does in ALL of his threads. And then, a few months later he bumps his old topic saying he has time, people post a few things, and then suddenly he has to do it later again. I wonder how he get's anything done.

by doing it later on when I have more time.  The following week I found the manual an was able to get a driver for it.  Its working good for the most part.
