Title: Sony DCR-HC21 with Vista Driver
Post by: aniketkar94 on June 14, 2009, 01:16:07 PM
Hello,

I have been trying to use the streaming feature on my Sony DCR-HC21 camcorder. I want to use it as a webcam, but the included driver CD is not working. When I try to use Skype with Vista, the camcorder appears, but it does not stream video.
This feature has worked for me using a Windows XP PC.

Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit
Camcorder: Sony DCR-HC21
PC: Gateway 6810-01

You need an extra software to do it: http://chris.pirillo.com/how-to-use-a-camcorder-as-a-webcam/

Are there any free options? Sony's manual says it can stream video to the computer, and it worked on an XP computer. Do I need special drivers?
