Title: usb phone ringtone help

i have tried to use a usb cable to install ring tones on 2 different cell phones.
each cable is made for the respective phone so compatibility ther is not an issue
the problem is that my pc will not recognize the cables. the pc will recognize other usb devices, mouse, camera, etc, but for some reason the cablse that hook to cell phones will not work.
all drivers were installed correctly and the programs that accompany the cable were installed properly. for some reason the pc will just not recognize these types of cables,
any suggestions or ideas that may help me out?

It doesn't need to recognize the cable, it needs to recognize the phone.

Did you put the phones in data mode or are they still in voice mode?

Have you installed the drivers before connecting the telephones?
