Hello everyone,
My microsoft outlook (2007) won't open on my log on window. I get the following message: "Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window"
I've tried using the scanpst.exe repair file but it still doesn't open. The funny thing is that my husband can open his outlook with no problem on his log on but when I log on I get an error. Can anyone help me please?
Thank you

Have you tried System Restore?
-
I'm going to suggest this as well. It's a freeware solution called OLfix (http://www.olfolders.de/Lang/English/OLfix/).
I hope that helps :)

What Quantos has suggested has fixed that particular problem in most cases.
if it doesn't google Microsoft Office Outlook cannot open
to see some of the other fixes for that situation.
Also do any other Microsoft Office applications you have installed open without problem?

That is out of line. People come here to find solutions, NOT to be told to go Google a solution on their own.

I do apologize.
-
MarleneD, let us know the results of OLfix. If that doesn't help we can certainly keep working on it.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I, in fact, came across RegCure, which I found on the Olfix website that Quantos suggested. I ran the scan but in order to fix it they want me to buy their product for $29.00! I'm not sure what to do yet.
I did try system restore but, that didn't work.
Thanks

Don't waste money on Regcure...more problems than it's worth.......same for all the other sure thing registry cleaners.
-
Did you try OLfix? It is free.
Don't ever use a registry curing type program. They quite often cause way more problems than they ever supposedly fix.
You were right to not purchase and use it.
-
Well, it's fixed! I didn't use olfix; seemed too complicated. I ended up using the Microsoft fix it program which eliminated a profile (something to do with registry keys).
I did have to create a new profile and then will have to import my pst files.
Thanks for everyone's help.

OLFix probably woulda handled the job...
No matter...glad to hear you're fixed up !
Stop by anytime...
-
Believe me, I always do stop by ;D
Thanks again everyone.

I'm glad to hear that you fixed it. :D
