I had a pretty bad one at one time it was a Trojan.Zlob called "Security Toolbar 7.1" It hyjacked my homepage, slowed down my internet, smothered me with pop ups wanting me to buy rouge anti-spyware, it even made my antivirus not work. Eventually we had to call Symantec to remove it which cost us $100 >:(.Here is a description of the virus: (Article website contained spyware threats, sorry. Just search for Security Toolbar 7.1 removal if you want to know more about it)
If you had a worse virus, post a description of it, and lets find out who had the worst virus ever!

This is a very broad question. Define "worst"?
Eventually we had to call Symantec to remove it which cost us $100
And if you had come here, it wouldn't have cost anything.
Anyway, to answer your question, IMO, Virut or Sality is the worst virus you could get. I didn't get it, but have seen plenty of cases with it. To get a description of it, just type "virut" in the search bar on the forum.

His is worst, so far, in terms of cost...

There is a virus hidden inside every Windows machine.
It cannot be seen.
It cannot be detected.
It cannot be removed.
Ever wonder why your computer keeps screwing around? Now you know....

I was reminded of this:
Is Windows a virus?
With the recent problems being encountered by Windows users all across the country, people are begin to ask themselves if windows is a virus. In response to the high demand for an answer to that question a study was done and concluded the following.
1. Viruses replicate quickly.
Windows does this.
2. Viruses use up valuable system resources, slowing down the system as they do so.
Windows does this.
3. Viruses will, from time to time, trash your hard disk.
Windows does this.
4. Viruses are usually carried, unkown to the user, along with valuable programs and systems.
Windows does that too.
5. Viruses will occasionally make the user suspect their system is too slow (see 2) and the user will buy new hardware.
Same with Windows, yet again.
Maybe Windows really is a virus.
Nope! There is a difference!
Viruses are well supported by their authors, are frequently updated, and tend to become more sophisticated as they mature. So there! Windows is not a virus.
-
Who the heck wrote that?
I'd agree with about two of those.
-
It's one of those old jokes floating around the Internet, that's all...it's been around since the days of Windows 3.1, at least...
-
1. and 4. don't make sense. windows doesn't replicate itself, and programs can't carry windows to other machines.
the obvious difference being that viruses are intended for malice.

I was reminded of this:
ha, lolz! good point :)
