Title: Okidata Printer shown as Unrecognized USB device
Post by: fulrdbc on July 23, 2009, 08:15:29 AM
Three weeks ago a power surge apparently got the mother board on my PC.  I have since replaced the computer but I am having trouble now with our Okidata printer C5500n color laser (which we don't use all the time)  While using a temporary computer, it came up as an USB device not being recognized.  I thought that it was that particular system as we have had trouble with it.  But I received my new system which is a Dell Vostro 220 and this system gives me the same error.  I have tried different USB cables, used the original installation CD for the printer but the system will not recognize it.  All other USB devices are working fine.  The printer also powers up correctly.

What I was wondering is if the USB port in the printer itself can be replaced?
