What video doesn't have sound? Internet video, DVD video, downloaded videos?
Do you have ANY sound (Windows sounds, music CD, etc.)?

Thanks for the response :)
I have tried rebooting and the same problem, and there is no sound whatsoever. When I tried to play music windows media player said there is a conflict with the sound card and another program may be using it. But there is nothing else running.

No Windows sounds? No internet sound?
Did you try another player beside WMP?

Well I think I have it working again. I downloaded new drivers from creative and went into device manager and clicked up date driver rebooted and it works!  ;D
This is a kids computer and what I think happened is they downloaded a program called digital dj and it corupted the drivers just a guess.
Thanks
