Title: Programs are blinking only around edges

My computer just yestaerday i noticed started shutting itself off, its not hot. I get on internet explorer and I cant type an adress in the address firld, I strt tpingand it erases it. I ant choose from dropdown menus on any program it just dissapears too quick the dropdown menu shows up & blinks off. while i am looking at this page nothing is blinking but the frame around it. what could this be?is a gateway my virus software is up to date and shows no virus.  ???

Provide processor info (hold Windows logo key, and hit Pause/Break key to find out).
