Title: Drive partitioning...grr
Post by: Helpmeh on August 16, 2009, 09:01:06 PM
Is it possible to partition a flashdrive so part of it tells the computer it is a cd drive? Also, is it possible to autorun a program on a different drive?

Do you know how U3 flashdrives work then? Because I was reading another post on CH and it got me googling. I came across a site saying only "cd" drives have no-prompt autorun and said U3 uses special partitions as a loophole.

But it cod be useful if used properly. Like those no-touch hdd backup drives. Just plug it in and let it go. But imagine what could happen if someone with malicious intent did that sorta thing, instead of copying, moving the files.
