Title: system hangs when rebooted

comp hangs on the win xp loading screen when rebooted, normal boot up works though except the restart, wonder whats wrong? ^^

Open msconfig and on the startup tab choose "selective startup" (disable everything from loading). Reboot. Does it boot to the gui?

i did what u said but its still the same, by the way the loading screen almost wont show up, you can barely see it in the screen

u almost cant see the win xp loading screen, the screen is almost blank and it stays that way and wont load or the comp hangs

But when you do a cold boot that screen looks normal?

comp boots up fine if  i do a shut down 1st then start the comp from there, but when i do a comp restart   thats when the prob arises
