Open IE and clean out all of your cookies.
Click Tools, Internet options and click delete under browsing history. . .follow through and make sure the cookies are deleted.
Close the browser and logoff. Open IE and go to Computer Hope. Computer Hope will issue a new cookie that will work.
Good Luck

Also empty your Temporary Internet Files folder.

Try tagging REMEMBER ME at the log in screen. It may be the limited time cookies may not be working correctly. And BTW, I have your bank account, PIN, credit cards and ebay account.
Jk, inside joke.

Is Computer Hope the only site where IE and now Firefox don't work?
Maybe a virus?
Clean your machine and run anti virus? Reinstall IE and Firefox. Shutdown completely, unplug from the wall, wait a minute and start over. Will be a deep reboot.
Clean the Registry?

Good Luck.
p.s. I'm surprised the experts here have not suggested something.
double p.s. Sometimes an anti virus program will cause strange problems. Momentarily disable your anti-virus and try IE and/or firefox again.
Get all the latest updates for your anti-virus, for IE, for firefox and for XP.

Uninstall both browsers then
re-install them both re-install firefox. If firefox works then uninstall google chrome too.
Stay with firefox. Speed and security.

Firefox is good.
Chrome is good, but I would get Chromeplus. Same as google chrome except it has IE tab feature (meaning you can tell the browser to use IE's engine to load a webpage when you want or need to)
