I am having a problem with Internet Explorer not opening on my laptop. I have tried everything that I know to do and also looked thru the files to possibly find other help, but none! It's like it has been uninstalled. I have Windows XP.
Thanks!

How are you trying to open it? From a shortcut?
Did you try Start>All Programs?
-
Hmm, I had similar problems in the past. Have you tried this? (http://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&source=web&ct=res&cd=1&ved=0CAcQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mozilla.com%2Ffirefox%2F&ei=lOsNS5z0FpHIsAP-zNXLDA&usg=AFQjCNHoYRseCQLFpRIP5mARYRNsMpS-qw&sig2=W_dV8vs6M_cZlfg9isSWxQ)

Yes, I have tried to open it from programs and it's like it has been deleted. The name is there but the big e icon is not. How can I open the internet without using IE? My internet connection is good.
Thanks for your replies!

Download and try Firefox or Safari or Opera - all good browsers. Let us know if any of them work - but we still need to fix the original problem with IE.
Go to START - RUN and enter: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe and press ENTER. What happens?

I get this message when I do that:
Windows cannot find 'C:\Program'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search.

Ok sorry now I understand what you mean. Download Browsar (http://www.browzar.com/index.html) to your desktop and put it on a USB stick, then run it on your laptop. See if that works.
-
I still don't understand. You can't uninstall Internet Explorer, so it has to be there. But go ahead and try Firefox or some other browser.

Allan,
I don't understand it either. One day it was there and the next it wasn't. It keeps saying I don't have access to that program. Do you think it may have a virus or something? I can't run my McAfee scan either.
-
Go to Start/Run and type in sfc /scannow and hit Enter...
Have your XP CD handy as it will ask for it...
Let it finish...remove the CD and re-boot.

Ok, now that I have installed Firefox it is running my McAfee virus scan. Weird.

I would get rid of that ad as soon as possible if I were you, unless you don't mind being banned.
