Title: Internet explorer won't open
Post by: jocerut on November 25, 2009, 04:17:24 PM: I am having a problem with Internet Explorer not opening on my laptop. I have tried everything that I know to do and also looked thru the files to possibly find other help, but none! It's like it has been uninstalled. I have Windows XP.

Go to START - RUN and enter: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe and press ENTER. What happens?

I am viewing posts and replying from my desktop!!! If you will please tell me how to access the internet/or get an address bar from my laptop I will gladly use Firefox!!!! I have used it before and like it, the computer doctor just put IE back on it when he fixed it. Thanks!

Ok sorry now I understand what you mean. Download Browsar (http://www.browzar.com/index.html) to your desktop and put it on a USB stick, then run it on your laptop. See if that works.

I don't understand it either. One day it was there and the next it wasn't. It keeps saying I don't have access to that program. Do you think it may have a virus or something? I can't run my McAfee scan either.

Have your XP CD handy as it will ask for it...
Let it finish...remove the CD and re-boot.

Ok, now that I have installed Firefox it is running my McAfee virus scan. Weird.
