Title: Firewire with a laptop

I recently purchased a Lap top HP G60-442OM Notebook PC. Unfortunately it does not have a firewire port!  I want to download digital videos from my Canon ZR60 camcorder. I bought a usb 4 pin firewire and I still can not download.

I looked for drivers & software for the camera but could not find any.  I'm running Vista and will be installing Windows 7 very shortly. 

Anybody have any suggestions?

You can usually find a firewire card that you can install into a pcmcia express card slot on your laptop.
