Hi all- new here!
I have a Gateway Notebook running XP SP3 that has a corrupt registry. I bought an external enclosure and the hard drive still works, but I cannot find the files I had stored on the desktop. Any advice in how to get these and also the maximum amount of data off of this drive?
Thanks!

1. What is the "exact" error message?
I bought an external enclosure and the hard drive still works...
2. And you know this because...
... but I cannot find the files I had stored on the desktop.
3. Why do you say this? What do you see (or don't see)? What is the "exact" error message, if any?
