Title: Find desktop files with external enclosure
Post by: Stu on December 10, 2009, 12:19:09 PM
Hi all- new here!
I have a Gateway Notebook running XP SP3 that has a corrupt registry. I bought an external enclosure and the hard drive still works, but I cannot find the files I had stored on the desktop. Any advice in how to get these and also the maximum amount of data off of this drive?
Thanks!

0.  "Where's the beef"? (http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_origin_of_the_quote_'Where's_the_beef')

I have a Gateway Notebook running XP SP3 that has a corrupt registry.

1.  What is the "exact" error message?

I bought an external enclosure and the hard drive still works...

2.  And you know this because...

... but I cannot find the files I had stored on the desktop.

3.  Why do you say this?  What do you see (or don't see)?  What is the "exact" error message, if any?
